Minh is a joyful 8-year old boy. His father is an unskilled laborer who lives and works in another part of Vietnam in order to support the family. Minh’s mother works when she can find day jobs. Minh has Down’s Syndrome and a serious heart condition. Although his body is frail, Minh’s joyful personality is celebrated. He is a funny child who likes to tell jokes. He has a terrific imagination, and likes to pretend that he is a doctor. Minh especially enjoys tending to the An Hoá Center garden that all of the children have helped to plant and grow.
